OP-TEC Photonic College Network (OPCN)

OP-TEC Photonics College Network (OPCN)

An Association of Postsecondary Photonics Technician Educators Organized and Operated by OP-TEC

OP-TEC formed the OP-TEC Photonics College Network (OPCN) in early 2009.  OPCN is an association of postsecondary photonics technician educators organized and operated by OP-TEC.  Members include faculty and administrators from 2-year colleges (or 2-year campuses of 4-year colleges) that are currently providing education and training for technicians in optics and photonics.  There are no membership fees to join.

The goals of the OPCN are to:

  • Expand the capacity of U.S. colleges by strengthening and enhancing existing and new photonics technician education offerings and by enlarging student enrollment.
  • Provide networking opportunities with colleagues.
  • Provide professional development opportunities to OPCN members.
  • Facilitate the sharing of ideas and best practices in curriculum, teaching, labs, student recruitment, student retention and relations with employers.
  • Provide advice and guidance to OP-TEC regarding its initiatives, strategies and services.

To request more information about OPCN and/or membership enrollment, please contact us via our contact form, call 254-751-9000 or e-mail
op-tec@op-tec.org.

We invite you to view the list below of current OPCN member institutions.  Click on the college name or website link to go to the institution’s website.  Contact names, phone numbers and e-mail addresses are also provided for each institution.
