OP-TEC’s Employer Council

OP-TEC’s Employer Council provides representatives of optics- and photonics-enabled industries the opportunity to guide and influence technician education.  Employer Council members have a collective influence on OP-TEC’s Plan of Work and serve as a source of information on employer needs for optics and photonics technicians.  Members also support the maintenance and update of OP-TEC’s National Photonics Skill Standards for Technicians and review and comment on the content, quality and relevance of OP-TEC’s materials, products and services.  OP-TEC also utilizes its Employer Council members to provide support to its Partner College activities and needs.

The council’s membership is categorized in the following photonics industry sectors:   Manufacturing; Telecommunications; Biomedical; Imaging and Remote Sensing; Lighting and Displays; Optoelectronics, Semiconductors and Nanotechnology; OEM and Field Service Representatives; and, Defense, Research and Energy.
